Bar and Restaurant now open Monday- Saturday
My husband and I were overnighting in Savannah over the Saturday of Labor Day weekend - looking for a dinner spot without a reservation! Stumbled in 45 Bistro after encountering 90 minute waits for any restaurant on River Street. We were seated at the bar right away and our bartender/waitress Demetra made us feel welcome through out the night! We had two different appetizer specials followed by the snapper and grouper and topped off with the flourless chocolate cake! Everything was delicious and flavorful - definately one of the best meals we had in years (and we live in Atlanta with lots of culinary options!) Exceptional service and inviting atmosphere made the whole night a special experience! High recommend!!
My husband and I stumbled upon this little gem while walking around Savannah. The dining room is very old world and the food is amazing. We had escargot which were incredible and he ordered the red snapper which was the best thing we had all weekend, absolutely lovely dinner.
45bistro was recommended to us by our inn keeper. We were skeptical at first as it seemed like the menu was limited and a bit expensive for some of the dishes. We also had just traveled from NJ and were looking for something a bit more causal. We were totally going to just bail on it and go to my girlfriends Google search recommendation of "the pink house"... I didn't want to be asked how it was when we got back to the inn and have to lie so we gave it a shot.
I had the Veal Chop Oscar. Best veal chop I have ever had, got it medium rare. The king crab and hollandaise (which I'm 99% sure is freshly made there) were great.
Girlfriend had a special for the night of a pork tenderloin with sweet potato mash and collard greens. Ive never seen her eat so much.
Attention to detail was also very obvious. I drink a lot of water with lemon, and a place that takes their lemons and de-seeds them is what made me want to give the experience 6 stars.
Waiter was great, great descriptions of the menu items and wine list as well as general conversation with us.
